Start up screen is unreadable, I have tried on an old monitor and a new one with the ssame results. Any suggestions?

What do you mean by unreadable? Its Black or are you referring to the welcome screen? -- -- Andre Windows Connected | http://www.windowsconnected.com Extended64 | http://www.extended64.com Blog | http://www.extended64.com/blogs/andre http://spaces.msn.com/members/adacosta

I get a washed out array of small blocks of color, the screen appears to be a selection window.

Can you try another video card? I had a problem like that with a GeForce FX 5200 on a MSI MB and never did get it to work right. I finally gave up and put in a FX 5500.

Thanks for the reply, I will have to try that, but first I must buy one. I currently use a ATI 9600 XT on a ASUS K8VSE Delux motherboard.
